Aftershocks: update

Oh the reason that I put up this map photo is because I was very annoyed that a map can cost $12. I mean, I can buy a meal already with that. The thing is, we need to put a map in the car so in the case that we got lost, we can always refer it and get ourselves on the main road. Sometimes the small roads can lead you to nowhere.

Currently: Watching X factor. It’s fun to watch the funny parts and the parts where some of them are getting told off. Lol

Aftershocks about 15 minutes ago. A little shaky but not like this afternoon, when the 5.0 magnitude hit. Made me feel dizzy because I was trying so hard to focus on the computer and my work. Sigh.. I got this article from stuff website. I think I need to buy some meditation cushions for myself to use at work because apparently the aftershocks are long term. They are going to be here for decades rather than years. Sigh..

Next

Oh yeah, this is darling’s computer which we bought in November. I think I put quite a few draft here and I never remember to post them or blog them. Oops.. I posted something else and I totally forgotten about them.

Anyway, we had another 5.0 magnitude earthquake. It was when we were at work. It made me dizzy because I was trying to focus on the computer at the same time it was shaking. Yes, I am treating it as if it was nothing. It’s annoying that the shakes disrupts our life and I guess we all got so used to it shaking that we don’t really bother to run or hide under desk. It’s not good because if there is going to be a big one, we would be trapped under something and not even realizing.

Chinese New Year is coming up. I had to ask friends when is the first day of CNY. Lol While everyone in Msia is going to enjoy going to open home, we are going to be working here. Unfortunately we are not in a country where CNY is a big celebration so no holidays.

Odd

It was back to work this week already. Forgive me if I didn’t mention. Was busy with gardening and catching up with friends. Last night we had a girls night at a friend’s house and darling went to guys night at another friend’s house. It was good because then both of us had something to do and not complaining, I have nothing to do and you went out. =( Hahaha..

Anyway, just wanted to share these with my readers. I was reading stuff website this morning when I came across this article about pay rise. I do hope that I get pay rise. Hahaha.. I saw another article about this car being reported as stolen when apparently it rolled down the hill and pushed itself back into the car owner’s house garage. Even parked neatly inside too. Lol so funny.

Day five

This is day five. We finished another part of the garden. Day 6 and day 7 was filling the gaps with bonding sand. Actually doing this kind of work is hard work because we had to squat down and bend over to make sure the slabs are level and putting them properly. But I think it’s worth it once everything is done and we don’t have to maintain cutting the grass every fortnightly.

We had to put all the dry grass by the corner of the grass because we can’t fit all the grass in the green bin. Seriously, we should have our own compost tumbler and recycle. Anyway, I don’t get why people have to pay to buy compost when we can make ourselves. It’s not very very cheap to buy. When I mean cheap, I mean like few cents, not dollars.

The weather was alright too when we did our pavement slabs. Cloudy is the best time because it wasn’t too hot and we could stay outside for as long as we want. It was one of the first few days after finishing up for the day and showering, when I sat down on the sofa in the living room. I wanted to get up to tidy up some stuff. Oh before these, we list down a number of things to do. Believe me, it was a long list. Hehe.. anyway, my mind said get up to tidy up but my body wouldn’t move. Yes, I was that tired.

Day four

I still can’t rotate this photo even though I use my phone to upload the photo. Sigh.. so annoying hoh. Well, I guess I shouldn’t take the photo that way.

Anyway, that is our garden on day 4.

A few weeks ago, I had a conversation with colleagues about recognizing people. When you thought you saw you know, you went to say hi or ask a question. When the person turn around, you realise that it’s not the person you thought they are. It’s pretty embarrasing when you were asking a question, eg like “what are you having for lunch?”

My colleagues and I shared some of our experiences and we kept laughing at ourselves. We know that it might be embarrasing that time but when you think back, it cracks you up. Lol.. I guess everyone will have experience at least once.

So friends, if I saw you, don’t think I am rude because I am not. I am just looking at you to see whether it is you or is it someone else.

Lol that was few weeks ago, not even sure when exactly. Anyway, today we went to see some landscaping stuff for our garden. Hopefully it won’t cost so much having to do the front garden. Anyway, need to check some stainless steel sinks because I want to change it. It looks so dirty and the water is going down very slowly. Might be blocked though. Thought of waiting till after new year to call plumber to come check it.

Day Two

Look how nice the front garden is now. The four of us did it this whole afternoon. It wasn’t too bad because it’s not that sunny compared to yesterday and we got a lot done with the four of us taking turns after each other are tired. I am so proud of us. Hehehe..

We were thinking of getting professionals to do it because it sounds like a hard job and it wont look so nice if it’s us doing. You can see that the tiles are not even. In the end, we decide that it doesn’t matter as long as the grass doesn’t grow as we don’t want to have to waste so much time cutting the grass.

We had to level the soil so shovelling all the soil was hard work and very tiring. I am not strong you know. So darling did most of the shovelling though the three of us takes turn to shovel. I don’t think it is the same as asking people to help shovel and buy gold coins for them yeah? I mean, giving gold coin is a standard thing here. Most do it to wear mufti at school or at work. Anyway, what are we complaining about when people in the red zone shovel the mud out everyday after the strong earthquake. Ish..

Day 1

This is first day. Not much getting done but taking the wooden frame around out is hard because the previous owner put in so deep and bugs crawling about. There was one point where darling said don’t move. My first thought is there is a spider on me so I screamed. Lol of course I am right. I don’t know how big is the spider but anyway, I hate bugs. Urgh..

We had to shovel some soil out to put the pavement because we wanted to level it to the grey cement. It will definitely take time for us to pave the whole front there. Not sure how long as we are working and busy with our life. Getting professional done is very expensive and worth the money hence this. We did take have to take breaks in between because it is quite tiring. Maybe can take smoke Rocky Patel cigars in too. Hahaha

Anyway, I shall make lunch and get to gardening.

Garden time

I love the weather so much. Lol it’s so sunny and my clothes are dry everyday when I wash them. Washed the bedsheet and the duvet cover yesterday and they dry. =) The weather is going to change on Thursday so I am going to wash as much as I can and dry them outside. =)

I am running out of topics to blog here. Lol sis haven’t been blogging because she is on holidays. Have to wait till she is back only then more is coming up. I am not going anywhere too so yeah, obviously nothing to blog about. Just waiting for darling’s cousin and hubby to arrive with a newborn baby.

I am actually quite excited to see the little baby. I mean, I don’t really know anyone (close) in my extended family who have had babies and we are actually quite close. After this, we are going to do some gardening. We plan to dig out the soil and put some bricks over it. It would be nice to have less garden space because we don’t need to waste our time cutting them. Right I have to go now. Ciao..
